NEW COTTAGE Houseplant Home Tour - Ep. 345

- After 18 months of renovation, we finally have neared the finish line of the 600 square foot-nursery office-turned-home, which we're calling the "Meadow Home" over @FlockFingerLakes I may have started putting plants in the house BEFORE it was complete, but by the time we were finished, it already felt "lived in". I'll be doing more of my plant videos here, especially as we start renovation in the other space at Flock, and as I continually move more and more of my stuff from Brooklyn to upstate. Thanks for your patience, and I'm excited to show you the plants that we chose for this space!

I tuck mirrors on top of cabinets with plants as well as in dimmer corners. I like the look of the plants reflected in the mirror as well as I hope the mirror reflects a bit of light to aid in their growth.

Summer, what a lovely home with a good space for two max. The interior design has all your signature touches especially the kitchen when I first saw it, hey that's from Brooklyn Kitchen. Love all the planters, sauces, baskets, and copperware. One stunting instant love plant, Aloe Hariana 13:22. I cannot believe this aloe was alive as it looks like an art sculpture piece.

Loved the little cottage tour. And how your taking advantage of the window sills for plants. Can see you love your Aloe’s the most. I tend to not have plants close to wear i cook and also wash areas and sleeping areas. Cause of fungus gnats etc. Just notice more in your videos your hands and face looks so red looking. Cannot wait to see your other home tours.

When I lived in Colorado, I grew gasteria as houseplants on sunny windowsills. Gasterias are very beautiful and underrated.
This is an example of a perfect balance of houseplants and an easily exesible house as many others just cowd their houses with plants and make most of their house inaccessible❤

hoya sunrise was the one of the few plants for me that I got a bit struggling as well , thinking It would bounce back like most plants, but did not! looked just like yours! So i guess it's a sign to buy that specific cultivar HEALTHY. Interesting. Rehab is rarely a problem for me.
This year I slowed down on plants / acquiring new ones completely but I finally got my hands on a Xerosicyos danguyi 'silver dollar vine' and WOW! I cant wait for the day its as large as your specimen, very inspiring & beautiful.

Beautiful cottage & beautiful plants! Question though on growing epipremnum up those walls. Once they solidly adhere to the walls aren't you concerned that if it ever needs to be removed that it will pull the plaster right off the walls? I'm always amazed at how secure those roots adhere themselves!!!

A little less pedestrian... 😆 can't deny I'm also a bit of a plant snob when it comes to my own collection.. often trying to find a less common variety of species.. It has to be affordable though
